Two Drivers Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision
Eastbound Lanes Reopen After Investigation
Highway 401 westbound from Gardiners Road to County Road 6 was closed to all traffic on Wednesday following a fatal collision in the Kingston area. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating the incident.
According to OPP, the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway near the Cataraqui Woods Drive exit. Two drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 have since reopened to traffic, while the westbound lanes remain closed. The OPP are urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The OPP is asking anyone with information to contact them at (613) 549-4111.
