Paris, France - Kylian Mbappé put on a show for Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.
Mbappé's goals came in the 32nd, 65th, and 85th minutes, as PSG took a commanding lead heading into the second leg in Barcelona.
The 22-year-old French forward became only the third player to score a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona, joining Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller.
Mbappé's performance was even more impressive considering that Barcelona had taken an early lead through Lionel Messi's penalty in the 27th minute.
However, PSG fought back with two goals in quick succession just before halftime, with Mbappé equalizing in the 32nd minute and Moise Kean giving the French side the lead in the 45th minute.
Mbappé sealed the win with his second and third goals in the second half, as PSG dominated possession and created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match.
The win gives PSG a significant advantage in the tie, as they will need to only avoid defeat in the second leg in Barcelona to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The second leg will be played at the Camp Nou on March 10, with PSG aiming to secure their place in the last eight of the Champions League.
